Over
the past fifteen years Morseburg Galleries has been an important
part of what has now become known as the "Plein-Air Revival."
We have mounted a series of exhibitions devoted to the works of
contemporary artists who have been influenced by the original California
Plein-Air painters and the American Impressionists. In the late
1980s, we began to see that artists who were inspired by the ideals
of the past were once again venturing out-of-doors and working directly
from nature. We recognized that a grass-roots movement had started
and began to exhibit and advertise the works of living traditional
painters in order to encourage its growth. Now, in tandem with the
tremendous strength of the historic California Art Club, we are
pleased to represent many of the finest Contemporary Plein-Air painters.
